Twelve of my photographs were shortlisted in the first round of judging for Wildlife Photographer of the Year, the world’s largest nature-focused photography contest. Being shortlisted once again was both exciting and motivating, even though my images did not progress beyond this stage.
This marked the third consecutive year I had been recognised by the competition, reflecting consistent growth and development in my photography. Entering WPY allowed me to test my work against the highest global standards and measure my progress as a wildlife photographer.
The shortlisted images spanned a wide range of subjects, including invertebrates, amphibians, and mammals, all captured in their natural habitats. The selection reflects my focus on combining technical skill with storytelling, aiming to showcase both species behaviour and the environmental context in which they exist.
